Diagnosis and treatment of hair loss

Most often, hair loss significantly affects the functionality of the patient's daily life due to the emotional complications that it entails. Hair loss, whether it is hair thinning, or
whether it results in the appearance of sparse areas (spot or diffuse baldness), is described by the general medical term “alopecia”. Dermatologists must first classify anddetermine the type of alopecia that the patient presents. In this sense, the doctor’s clinical skills and his equipment - trichoscopy, trichogram - are of paramount importance, when necessary.

A series of treatments of proven effectiveness are proposed to patients via individualized diagnosis of the two most common causes of hair loss, namely:

  • Telogen effluvium or Hair Shedding (chronic or acute),
  • Androgenetic Alopecia (classic male or female pattern jair loss),
  • Also, we take care of less common conditions, such as alopecia areata or cicatricial (scarring) alopecia, etc.

We have the pharmacological knowledge necessary to handle locally and systemically administered medications that provide results, either in inhibiting hair loss or in regrowing new hair. Thorough application of modern pharmacotherapy under the supervision of a dermatologist with regard to its safety and effectiveness profile is of paramount importance.

In our private practice, when deemed necessary, we resort to methods of Autologous PRP Mesotherapy, or even methods of FUE Hair Transplant, with referral to specialized colleagues.
